I used to use Yahoo Messenger, but it didn't seem to like WinME after some
upgrades.  Why don't you and your daughter use ICQ to chat.  I have used
that for some 9 years.

If you want an older version (I am using 2001b, which works well), go to
www.oldversion.com and you will have your pick.  I found that the latest and
greatest 2003 one was way too much.  2001b is smaller than the previous and
later ones as well.  There is also ICQ Lite, but haven't tried that one.

I have been chatting with an Aussie friend using that (and 99) for eons, and
other than typhoons hitting Oz, we have had absolutely no problems.  I don't
archive the messages either......too much of a PITA to delete.

Of course, there is also MSN Messenger, but I don't like that one either.
