Hi!    What does it mean to "verify a file"?   I read
directions for how to remove items from the temporary
files.  But at some point in the directions, it said to
verify that I was in the temporary files.    I had first
entered temp files, and then clicked on C files as I was
directed to do.   But then I was in my directions I had ben
following, told to verify that I was in temporary files,
before going ahead and deleting the list of temporary
files.    Since I had no idea how to verify that, I decided
to wait till I hopefully understood better how to do this
as I don't want to delete files I shouldn't delete.
      Thanks.

This simply means that you should check that you are in the C:\Windows\Temp
folder, rather than anywhere else - so that the files you're deleting really
are the ones that you think they are (most of them probably have .TMP
extensions)

Hi, Noel!
     Thank you for your reply!
I realize they want me to verify that I am still in
temporary files before deleting.   But I hadn't been able
to know how to prove whether I was or not.  There was no
heading saying "temporary files" that I could see that
could have assured me that I was in temporary files.    I
think I clicked on temporary files after clicking on the
Temp folder.    But then, the directions said to click on
the C folder next and so that took away the mention of the
temporary folder.    So I saw no  way to verify that I was
in the temporary folder, at least, not by sight.
       Bye.

In Windows Explorer, click on View
then Explorer Bar|Folder
then
Tools|Options....
and click on the View tab - put a checkmark against 'Display the full path
in title bar' and/or 'Display the full path in the address bar' - click OK

I guess not many of us remember the (good old) days of DOS, when the Verify command meant that after an interminable wait while your
PC wrote to a floppy, there was a further delay while it read it all back to itself,  to verify it. (VBG).
