Whilst trying to defrag drive c, i get an error message
saying i need to scandisk to fix errors first before
defrag.Error DEFRAG0004. I have scanned disk in normal
mode, both standard & thorough, also in safe mode, both
standard & thorough, & also in DOS, i even changed the Num
Passes to 5 in the Scandisk, ini file, with the ScanTimeOut
on. I have done this untill i have received "no errors
found" message. Then once again in defrag, around 10%, i
get the same DEFRAG0004 message. It doesnt matter whether
I defrag without "checking for errors", or without "re-
arranging programs to run faster". I have looked
everywhere for help with ths DEFRAG0004 error message, but
to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

*bump*  I have this error too and can't figure out what to do.  I've
restarted my computer in Safe Mode and tried to run SD and Defrag, did a
clean boot, did a clean boot in Safe Mode...  Nothing is working
