I see how this program could seriously muck up a system
and I shall be held harmless for any statements that
should follow (disclaimer statement) <G>.

I've tinkered around with this program for the majority of
the day.  Very thorough and lots of options IMHO.  I've
removed the obvious registry entries and unneeded files
basis the help file directions.  Things seem a bit more
snappy in terms of explorer and word.  My recycle bin now
contains 1,400 deleted files which will be purged after a
week or so of smooth sailing.

One interesting thing is that I have 2,000 duplicate files
on the system.  Seems a bit excessive to me but I plan to
take this slowly and delete/wait/delete/wait/delete/wait.
The help file gives general guidelines but not as specific
and would make me comfortable.

Is there any better guidance as to identifying the files
to delete?

I'll keep you posted with my progress.

KB, I've been using this utility for a month or so now. I have deleted many
unwanted registery entries that has found and nothing major has happened THUS
FAR. My major question regarding this utility is the duplicate section of it.
It finds duplicates but every single one are slightly, very slightly,
different that one another and that makes it hard to delete anything. I have
also started using this JV16 power tools. This one found many many more than
the easy cleaner. You reach to a point of thinking what the heck is going on
here and whether or not all these are redundant and...and.. Just sharing my
experience.

Hey Chris, thanks for the feedback.  How many duplicates
does your system show?  Mine has 2000.  Some are in system
backups (I'm guessing) but I don't want to trash the
system.  That's why I haven't migrated to JV16.  There's a
post in another newsgroup noting problems after using it.
Hate to have the antidote be worse than the disease <G>

I think my question is the same as yours.  How does one
decide which are redundant and useless?

Thanks again, Chris.
