Hi newbee here and please I need your help.
On starting Windows it loads but before completing this message appears and
freezes the process.

The shortcut 'SETUP.lnk ' reffers to a locality thats unavailable. This could
be on the hard drive, network, or different computer in the home. Check to
make sure disk is properly inserted, or connected to the internet or home
network and try again.

Checked the hard drive but can find no ref to this. Not part of a network nor
do I have another computer. Don't recall inserting any program disks of late.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

It's probably in your Programs Startup  menu
Click Start > Programs > Startup

is there a SETUP entry there? - if so Delete it.

Glad to hear it seems to have been effective!

FWIW, this sort of problem is common when removing malware - and if that's
the case then you should take care to remove the rest of the stuff - here's
my standard 'spiel' on the subject.....
You may already have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://vil.mcafeesecurity.com/vil/averttools.asp

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:

download AdAware SE Personal Edition from www.lavasoftusa.com, install,
update, and run it to remove spyware, adware, and other such nasties from
your system.
