Cannot Download From Windows Update

This is an upgrade installation from Windows 98.

At the list of critical updates, I clicked install and the download window
appeared. Thereafter nothing happened.

Have you tried the Windows Update Troubleshooter? - in Windows Update, click
on the 'Get Help & support link in the left pane - then click on the link in
the page that comes up.
