WinME + Mattel's Scrabble = BSOD

In case anyone can suggest a solution, ever since I first ran this application it invariably ends in a BSOD or a hung PC.  Sometimes
after an hour, at other times at the first attempt to play.   The program always loads OK but, if it hangs up, nothing will work,
keys or mouse.  However,  most often problem is the BSOD, when pressing "any key" to resume Windows either creates a blank screen,
or another BSOD.  Once on that screen, Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't always work

Here in Oz, we can only buy the UK Mattel version which, unlike the USA version, can't be run from a HDD, only the CD ROM.  My best
guess at the cause of these problems is that the program changes the screen settings from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600 but I'm open to
suggestions (g).

Apologies if this isn't _exactly_ a WinME problem, but if anyone has had this problem and resolved it I would I would very much like
to hear.

Does the BSOD give a clue as to the failing component?

Murphy's Law has intervened - the program would not fail today.  Shall revert ASAP, meantime many thanks.

Jim.

Such is life Jim, Murphy's got a lot to answer for.  :-)  Let's just hope
it stays fixed.

Mike, I cannot believe that just sending a query to this NG could have cured the problem.  Surely
Murphy is at work as, since my OP, the application has crashed only once, and then to a black screen.
No BSOD ! If it ever (?) crashes again, I will get back to you.  In the meantime I'm just amazed.

Jim
