Greeting to all the knowledgeable folk,
I am running Windows ME, on an Athlon 1.2ghz processor with 512mb ram.
My problem is with a mysterious missing dll file.
Once the desktop has loaded, a Rundll error window appears, It says it can't
find the file winytp32.dll
I've searched on the internet to try and find what exactly this file is, but
to no luck.
On the startup tab of MSCONFIG, Name - winytp32, Loaded from - registry
(machine run),
Command - rundll32 winytp32.dll,run
I get a feeling that it may have something to do with Microsoft word.
When I try to load Word 2000, it pauses on the splash screen, if I press
ctrl, alt, delete to get the close programme dialogue box up, the screen goes
blue with an error message, pressing enter results in a black screen with a
white window saying the system is dangerously low on system resources, and
to close Word. The desktop then returns, I can move the mouse, but can't
click on anything, pressing ctrl, alt, delete just brings up the black screen
and white window suggesting I close more programmes. Needless to say,
resetting the computer is the only solution.
First of all I ran a virus scan, and my system appears to be clean,
I uninstalled and then reinstalled Microsoft word, still the problem exists.
I reinstalled all of the system files using my mesh computer recovery cd's.
I have not installed any software recently, or made any changes to the
system that I can identify as being the cause of the problem.
I'm hoping that somebody may be able to find a solution for me so that I can
avoid a complete reformat.
Thak you in advance
Peter Chapman

Not sure about your missing file.
Your word problem should be easy to resolve.
Search for and delete all instances of the file "normal.dot"
(without the quotes).

I've dealt with your file missing problem elsewhere - please refrain from
multiposting in future!
George is almost certainly correct in his evaluation of your Office problem
