My WinME has now started telling me that all my .MOV and .PPS files aren't valid applications.  Help Support can't give me any clues
so can anyone advise how I can correct this situation?   I'm beginning to get rather tired of WinME !

Jim,

.MOV files are associated with Apple's QuickTime and .PPS associated with MS
PowerPoint, neither of which are 'native' to WinMe.  These files however can
'usually' be played through WinMe's Media Player so you may need only to
're-associate' them with your Media Player.

As to why they're no longer associated depends on what you've recently
installed which might affect your Media Player, which in turn *may* have
dis-associated those files. If quite recent, perhaps a System Restore might
be a possible option.

Don't blame WinMe <g>

Good luck

Mart

Jim,

This isn't a Win Me problem but rather one of what you have associated
with these two file types since neither file type is an application.  What
changes have you made to your system?  Have you ever been able to play
QuickTime Movie (MOV) files or PowerPoint Presentations (PPS).

Check using Control panel | Folder Options | File Types what applications
you have associated with each of these file types and correct as
necessary.
