hello.  please help me get my "search" function back on my laptop, running
winme.  it has worked in the past.  i don't know what i could have done to
make it stop working.

it returns an empty list.

i use this function to clear out *.tmp, *.temp, mscreate.dir, etc. files and
for obvious reasons, to find a particular file.

i don't know why it does not work anymore, but i would surely appreciate
getting this function back.

i've goggle'd "search function" with "winme" & "stopped working" and have
had no luck finding the answer.  the closest was a solution for winxp, which
was to go to windows\inf and right-click on srchasst.inf and install.  i
could not find that *.inf file in the inf folder, and have no other way to
know if it's somewhere else on the system except thru a manual search.
yikes.

tia,
ginny

Have you perhaps used TweakUI and inadvertently unchecked the box "Search
Results" on the Desktop tab?  If yes, recheck the box and click Apply.

Ginny,

Thanks for the feedback and I'm pleased to read you've now fixed the
problem.
