ok so one day i woke up and found out that all of my picture files,
music files, and some other downloaded files ALL DISAPPEARED, i know
that i didn't delete anything
(they were all there the day before this)

i tried restoring my computer to one day before, it didn't help, all
the files still were missing
i also tried restoring my computer to one week before, it dind't help,
all the files still were missing

so i tried restoring my files, successfully, i have restored most of my
files, but when it comes to picture files, i was able to restore the
picture i've deleted months ago on purpose, but unable to restore the
most recent uploaded pictures, in fact, i was only able to restore less
than half of the most recent took pictures.

i tried scan my computer for viruses, nothing came up

can some one please help???!!!!!!
this is all too confusing, why is that i am only able to restore less
than half of all my most recent pictures, but somehow able to restore
all of my pictures files from months ago??

is there a way i can restore all of my most recent took pictures??

advice very much appreciated
thank you
god bless

System Restore is a system recovery application and does not touch or
monitor user data such as audio and video files, WP documents and e-mail
message stores, etc.

How are you trying to recover these files?  Your problem could be due to
any one of a number of things including malicious malware or viruses
and/or a failing hard disk with resulting random file corruption.

hey mike:
thank you for responding =)

well i use this program called RESTORATION VERSION 2.5.14
so far i have used this program to restore many of my disappeared files
including some video clips and a lot of pictures

the only problem is that it wont locate my most recent pictures took
around late july
and it's very frustrating

i also scanned the computer for viruses via norton, and use spybot and
ad-ware to scan for spywares...

so any suggestions?
thank you

If Restoration can't see the files then I'm sorry but they have probably
gone and the space they occupied been overwritten by other files generated
or amended when Win Me is running.  It is for this reason that it is
nearly always better to try and recover missing or deleted files after
booting to DOS using a floppy or using an application that boots and runs
entirely from CD.

Sorry I can't really help but feel I should advise you to get a proper
anti-virus application.  Norton is not only one of the worst publicly
available products that calls itself an AV program but is also
incidentally almost 100% incompatible with Win Me.

Sorry not be able to offer any helpful advice.
