Is there anyone who can help me solve a very irritating problem when trying
to close down my PC. Whenever I attempt to shut down my computer I get a
message saying "Ending Program...Please wait. It then tries to store some
sort of data called End Program TRSDKd ww C/Program Files/Google/Go..
but it always tells me the program is not responding! Any ideas?

Thanks in advance Paul Nicholson

This appears to be a common problem and the result of having an
application installed that uses the Total Recorder Virtual Sound Driver
(http://www.highcriteria.com/) which is used to monitor capture or modify
the sound stream going to your sound chip.  This is not part of the
operating system but part of something you have installed since installing
Win Me.

Check what applications you have running when you shutdown and also check,
using MSConfig, what applications are being launched each time you boot
your system.  If unsure which is using the Total Recorder sound driver try
unchecking each in turn, rebooting and then shutting down until you find
the culprit.  If you know the location of the file involved this might
make finding the culprit much easier.  You mention C/Program
Files/Google/Go.. , if that is the location of the file then try
uninstalling whatever application it is that you have installed in that
folder.
