Hello , everybody ,

On an old Compaq pc with pentium 3 , I have installed : win ME .
Everything went well, but now it seems there is a problem with the system
restore function . Repair Points are made and I can also make repair points
by myself, but when I execute a system restore to a previous point, after 2
seconds it goes wrong . De pc restarts (too fast) and the system restore
displays an error : repair failed - no modifications are made .
The Restore map seems ok, there is more than 3Gb space reserved for system
restore an the processes : PCHealth and *StatMgr are running .
In safe mode I have also the same problem .

Anybody , any solution ?

Thanks , Danny .

There is little or no point in posting the same question to more than one
Win Me newsgroup given the low level of traffic.  Additionally if you do
this I would suggest you cross post correctly rather than making multiple
individual posts as this helps those responding to see whether the post
has already been answered in another newsgroup to which the question was
also posted.  Moving on.

Solution?

Yes.  Install the 290700 patch for system restore which has been necessary
since Sept 2001 for SR to create usable checkpoints.
