I have used a removeable USB drive and once when I removed
the drive the Drive name and letter did not leave from my
computer.  Now I have a "permanent" removeable "E" drive
that does not really exist.  Any ideas how to remove it or
fix the problem?

right click on my computer, properties, then device manager, remove your
drive. play around with it. see if your usb removable drive is listed, then
click on remove button at the bottom.
