Can I reinstall ME from the CD-ROM without losing everything on my hard drive?  When I
start, it recommends that I do not reinstall from the CD, and says that this would result
in the replacement of the config.sys and autoexec.bat files with simpler versions.  I'm at
a loss about how to boot my PC in non-safe mode, and reinstalling ME from the CD is the
only thing I haven't tried yet.  I tried reinstalling with CD-ROM support, but that
doesn't get past my problem, which I just posted a few minutes ago.  Many thanks.

(for the benefit of others mainly)
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it would appear that you've
corrected the problem that led to this question. Hope everything's
going good on your system at this point.

Correct.  System is good now, though I'm going to attempt later on to
reinstall Nero Burning ROM, hopefully without incident.  Thanks.
