Maybe someone here can help:  I believe I gotg some sort of worm that installed
"netsvcs.exe" in my C:\windows folder.  Symantec isolated the file and recommended that I
delete it, so I did.  Now, however, Windows ME does not fully load.  It attemp;ts to load,
but then stops with a blue screen msg saying "AN exception 0E has occurred at
0028:C004C715 in VxD VFAT(01) + 0000C25, etc. etc."  I can boot the computer in safe mode,
but not regular ME.  Can anyone help?  MANY THANKS!!

Josh......most of the MVP's on here are in England and would be in bed at
this hour.  But one thing I would like to know.......what version of Norton
are you using?  The newer versions (as you now have found out) do not work
with ME.

Hang tight.....someone will be able to help you after 1 am EST.

I'm not sure what version it is - but I've used it for a while.  Going back thru the
archives I've seen some similar problems and suggestions, but nothing's worked so far.
I'll check back in the morning EST if I can't make it until 1AM.

Thanks for the reply!

Hmm - that version doesn't often cause problems.....
Boot to Safe Mode, and go to Start|Run
type
SCANREG   /FIX
and click OK - Windows will reboot, fixing the registry if required.
See if that helps.

Thanks everyone.  I seem to have solved the problem by Googling the
exact error msg. I received.  Somebody, somewhere, sometime had the same
problem, and it had something to do with Nero Burning ROM.  I deleted my
version and the problem went away.  Hopefully I'll be able to reinstall
and use it more carefully.
