hello everyone,

I have windows ME, sytem restore has not been workingfor a while now...

the problem with my computer is, when i turn it on i get this blue screen
that says the following:

There i a problem with asystem file. Windows might not be able to run
correctly. You might be able to fix this problem by running System Restore.
If his does not fix the problem, try reinstalling Windows.   (System Restore
not working)

VxD dynamic link call: VSDATA95(01) + 0002BF3C to "0028", service 800A.

To continue running Windows, choose Yes. Be aware that your computer might
become unstable.

To quit Windows, choose No. You will lose any unsaved information. Do you
want to continue running Windows?

Press Y fir Yes or N fir No: Y
After I press Yes i get the same window as before now with,

VxD dynamic link call: C1C5C972 to "0028", service 8029.
after i press Yes again i get another blue window,

An error has occured. to continue:

press Enter to return to Windows, or

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart your computer. If you do this,
you will lose any unsaved information in all open applications.

error: 0E : 0028 : C1C3E9A7

                    Press any key to continue

Then after i press any key, the first thing that pops up is, Add New
Hardware Wizard, i cancel it the computer looks like it starts in safe mode.
Do i have to reinstall windows?and if i do will my pictures, files, songs and
all that good stuff be erased??? everything was running fine until my sister
came back from school used the computer, came home and said something is
wrongwith the computer and i said an not again!!!....

any help would be appreciated thanks:)

You VSDATA95 error suggest that you have Zone Alarm installed and that
this is what is causing you your problems.  Try uninstalling and then
reinstalling Zone Alarm, perhaps updating it on the way.  VSDATA95.VXD is
part of Zone Alarm rather than part of the Win Me operating system.
