How can I delete some of the entires when I right click.
There are two entries using the scan for virus. One doesnt work.
Thanks
Unless you supply more detail, this can be hard to answer exactly.
You will have to remove the Registry entries with Regedit.exe
Try these old notes.
"Scan for Viruses" - there are a few: the search should be for "Scan
for &Viruses" if there is an underline under the "V"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\exefile\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\comfile\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\rtffile\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WinZip\shell\VirusScan]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Addin\shell\VirusScan]

Alan, thanks. The list shows two scan for virus.
The one that doesnt seem to work has the underscore under the V.
Using the notes below will remove the item not working?

First export the key for safety (using the menu option Registry-Export
while you have the highlight on the key in the left pane of Regedit),
then delete the key.
If it is the wrong key, then you can put it back again.

Alan, had a look into the registry and could not locate the entries.

Search for them.If the underscore is under the "V" in "Scan for
Viruses" the search should be for "Scan for &Viruses"

Righto ... thanks Ill give it a whirl.

The error I get for the one item is Initialization error occured. Unable to
scan.
Scan32 was unable to load common libraries.
Although, the other scan for virus works fine.
Ive searched the registry using "Scan for &Viruses" and the only item that
came up was under the
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\rtffile\shell\VirusScan]
nothing changes when I remove this item.
Thanks
and came up with one in the

Strange?
You said earlier that you couldn't locate that key when I gave it to
you.
Have you tried contacting the owners of the application? (McAfee?)
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
