Have you tried System Restore to roll-back to before the 'sudden' change?

OK, so what exactly do you mean?

Do you mean that by grabbing the edges (or corners) of the windows, they
won't stretch or drag to the size you want?

Do, you mean that they don't re-open at the same size that you'd previously
set before you last closed the window?

Do you mean that you can't switch between Max, Normal and Min using the
buttons in the top RH corner?

Or do you mean that the 'Run - Open Size' option doesn't work in its
shortcut?

What had you previously done, immediately before noticing that you 'cannot
resize'? - New software, hardware, etc..?

Does this only happen with Quickbooks and Word?

What happens with other applications e.g. Notepad, Paint, etc..?

Also when did this problem first start and what exactly happened when you
used system restore to roll back your system to before the problem began?
For example what messages if any did system restore output during and at
the end of the restore?

You're welcome Gerry.

It's amazing the way a faulty mouse can manifest itself <g>
