I keep getting a blue screen error saying that I have a "windows protection
error. You need to restart your computer. System Halted." I have tried Ctrl
Alt Del, but it will not go off of that screen. Any ideas, suggestions? Oh
and it does this even in safe mode. HELP!

When did this start?  What changes were made to your system in the session
before this problem started?

I am also running into this problem when shutting down my system an the only
way to end things is by just holding the power button in until it shuts off.

I have added a Epson printer recently, Change my screen saver to a different
one. Downloaded an update to my Fire wall. Plus I not sure what else. Busy
little girl I guess.

I guess if it gets to bad I can back up and reformat may just back up in
case things go awful though I really hate to do that it takes a while to get
it all back again.

running into what?????
Unless you quote something or describe your OWN symptoms, we have no way of
knowing what you are talking about (except a very vague notion that it has
something to do with a blue screen, and possibly shutdown.

I was posting in a thread so instead of repeating the whole thread I figured
it was available above. in the thread. Guess I was wrong!

This has been happening as I shut down my computer at night before bedtime.
It seem to be doing it almost every for a week

Today when I went to shut down I ran into a different hang up the computer
seems to close all programs and the screen goes black no error messages but
the fans keep running I then have to go and hold the power button in to have
the system shut off.   Then when the computer is started again the computer
runs thru a scan disk diagnostic an says that it was not shut down properly.

Thanks Baker

A thread where the last post was made by me nearly four months ago on 1
June and long since discarded by those using a proper news reader than the
Microsoft web front end to these newsgroups.
