I am using Windows ME and SBC DSL service. When I click  "Start|Search|For
Files or Folder" I no longer get the search dialog  box. The screen returns
to whatever is displayed.
I would appreciate any help that could be provided.
Thanks, Al

Have you been playing with TweakUI???
note #2....

Note - there are a few cautions with TweakUI:-
1) Do *not* change the first icon from "My Documents" on the Desktop tab
2) Do *not* uncheck: Search Results on the Desktop tab
3) Do *not* hide the Tweak UI icon on the Control Panel tab
4) Do *not* uncheck: Show Control Panel on Start Menu on the IE tab
5) Do *not* uncheck: Shell enhancements on the IE tab
6) To move "My Documents" folder, right-click on the Folder, and click
Properties.

Thanks for responding to my question.  No, I have not been playing with
TweakUI.  Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Al

However last time it was George Gee that responded. <vbg>  It's odd though
as I was certain I had seen an almost identical post in the last week or
so and you've now proved that on this occasion at least I wasn't dreaming.

Hi Mike

Yes, I am aware GG responded but I knew you would know that, as would
Noel. <gg>

I draw no conclusions from the other posts, answered or unanswered.

Sorry that I seemed to have upset you.  I have posted this question more
than once because so far no one has helped me solve my problem.  If no one
writes back with a solution that works for my problem, what am I supposed to
do?

I have appreciated the information this newsgroup has provided, and I think
that it is nice of you guys to take the time to try to help.  You have
helped me solve problems in the past and I was hoping that you might be able
to help me with my current problem.  Forgive me if I annoyed you with my
last posting.

You're supposed to *let people know* that your problem hasn't been solved -
and what you've tried as solutions.

Let's try again - from scratch!

What *precisely* is your problem?
What error messages do you get??? (EXACT wording please!)
What did you do to the system immediately prior to the problem first
appearing?
What have you attempted by way of 'fixes'??

I will gather some more info about my problem and then I will post another
message in a few days.  I will post the new message as Start | Search
(Follow Up).
