Running Windows ME, IE 6.0

Would someone know how to fix the following:

Problem:  I currently have a program file listed as follows:

1) C:\Windows\Viewer.exe  - under Programs/Quick time for Windows/Picture
Viewer.
2) This  is a very old file picture viewer, version 2.01.41 - from Apple
Corp.(1988-1994)

Consequently, I can not view any file attachments, i.e., attachments of file
type : application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, et al.

Would appreciate a directive to the appropriate link/module to bring this
program file up to date.
