Windows Protection Error system halted??

Dear friends,

I recenlty updated my IE 5.5 with the I E 6.0 SP1 from microsoft website..

Right after this, I started to recieve many "Blue Screen" Windows
Protection Error, You need to Restart your computer, Syetem halted????

what dose it mean??

I restart to safemode and after this I restart again to normal mode to find
all my display setting are damaged and to refine again display options,

what happens??

Use System Restore to set your system back to just prior to the
installation of IE6.
