None of the figures shown in the Resource Meter reflects virtual memory.
Removing unused programs and files has no effect on virtual memory either.
But getting rid of unused files and programs is a good idea anyway - why
keep trash lying about when you can get rid of it? It will free up hard
drive space and potentially eliminate conflicts between programs.
