Is virtual memory affected by temp files and which figure of the three
displayed by the resource meter actually represents the amount of space
available in virtual memory.
I use the JV16 power tool for removing programs no longer in use and feel
comfortable using it to remove 5 yrs of junk in my temp files. However if
nothing is to be gained from doing so then why bother.
Please enlighten me.

None of the figures shown in the Resource Meter reflects virtual memory.
Removing unused programs and files has no effect on virtual memory either.
But getting rid of unused files and programs is a good idea anyway - why
keep trash lying about when you can get rid of it?  It will free up hard
drive space and potentially eliminate conflicts between programs.
