My computer crashed and now starts up with the message Keyboard failure.  It
will let me use the keyboard in f2 set up mode, but I don't know how to
reinstall it without the keyboard.

Clue:  This is a newsgroup support those using the Windows Me operating
system as evident from the name of the group
microsoft.public.WINDOWSME.general

Your problem. Following your crash it is possible the bios lost its
settings and that you need to enable legacy usb support (ASSuming you are
using a usb keyboard).

Have you tried using another keyboard?  Try borrowing one from a friend
for a few minutes.  What happens if you use a PS2 keyboard rather than
usb?
