Note that this applies to IE7.  Since quite a few members of this group have
OS  Windows XP SP1, SP2 etc., just peruse this info:

Hopefully it will help.

Ed,

> Note that this applies to IE7.

100% incorrect.  IE7 is NOT susceptible to this particular vulnerability.

Mike, You are absolutely right! And I do wish to apologize, my fingers were
too fast this morning and the original post is wrong due to a typo.  I meant
to type IE 6 SP1, IE 6 SP2, including vulnerabilities to 98SE and Win ME -
per provided link "within the original link" to www.averyjparker.com
Again, just wanted to post this for info purposes only.  One more time,
sorry for the wrong info/typo.
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,

As you say, the problem is with versions of IE prior to IE7 including IE6
SP1 which is the latest available version for Win Me.  Sadly though
Microsoft no longer provide patches for IE6 SP1 when installed in Win Me
although they do so when installed as part of XP SP1.

I had intended posting a method of updating IE6 SP1 in Win Me but see that
David Lipman has beaten me to it. :-)

Mike,  Thank you for your response. I'm glad that you were thinking along
the same lines as David....it's the old saying: "two heads are better than
one". Congrats to you both and to so many other knowledgeable people in this
group for having the gift of being creative, plus the ability to share your
know how with others!
Cheers!
Ed
