Using WMP 11 and for the life of me I cannot verify that WMconnect is
running. My DLINK on the wireless network cannot find the Windows Media
server, and I have scoured this NG and MS web site and Dlink and I cannot
find a solution.

This is the first time I am trying to use WMC so I have no reference if it
worked when I had WMP 10 or earlier

I have done all the necessary file sharing stuff in WMP, the device shows up
under devices with a green check mark, I have the device also in my network
workgroup and have checked all my network services as turned on. But still
no luck. What else could be the problem?

The DLINK works well with DLINKs media server and it also connects to the
internet without problem so I know its not a DLINK issue.

Running Win XP with SP2

Thanks for any help

Bill

the wmc built into wmp11 no longer works with a dsm-320 (probably the same
problem with you media server). i would upgrade back to wmp10/wmc2.0 or wait
(and it's already been a while) for ms to fix the problem. so  much for plays
for sure. btw- to see if wmc is running, look under media sharing under the
library tab.

Thanks for that at least I know its not me :-)
The Dlink media server works just fine and I can also connect to live365,
but not AOL or yahoo etc..Thats where the wmc is not working

I was thinking of going back to wmp10 but I could not find anywhere to
download the wmc2 program. MS doesnt seem to have it anymore. Where could I
get that or is it installed with wmp10?

I have media sharing turned on under the library tab so I assume wmc is also
running
Thanks again
Bill
