i installed a new wifi printer last week and since then i keep getting a
window at shut down saying "device io notification - end now / cancel" it
never ends on its own and then another window opens "device io notification
(not responding) - end now / cancel". i have to manually shut it down to log
off my laptop.

i contacted hp to ask if there was any conflict with software but they said
not.

anyone advise on how to resolve this problem.

I have the same problem with my new HP Photosmart C7280 and found that the
problem does not occur when I leave the printer on when I shut the computer
down.

I am having the same problem but leaving the printer on until shut down is
completed does not help.  I still get the message and have to end the program
manually.

Thanks for the info Venkati.

I did the same thing and was going to post it but you beat me to it.  It
cleared up the problem on two of my computers.  HP's is saying it nothing
wrong with any of their programs but they are mistaken.

Hi,

Same thing for me, but I got an additional message, "tfswctrl.exe" was not
responding too. When I turned on the printer, HP C4280 All in one, it shut
down normally.

Always like to use the extra energy in these days!

I find that unchecking only "HP Digital Imaging Monitor" (HPQTRA08.exe) in
the Start-up list solved the problem.

just got this Click Start, and then Run. The Run window opens.
In the Open: line, type msconfig.
Click OK.
The System Configuration screen will pop up.
Click the Services tab. Place a check mark in the Hide All Microsoft
Services box.
Click the Disable All button and then click OK.
Click the Startup tab.
From the available list, search the list for the digital imaging monitor,
the file name will be hpqtra08.
Uncheck the box for hpqtra08 or HP Digital Imaging Monitor.
Click Disable All to disable any application that loads when the computer
starts.
Click on Apply and Ok
Click Restart to apply the changes to the computer. back direct from HP
