I've seen a number of installation problems around atl.dll. I don't have
enough infomration from your original message to confirm that this is the
problem in your case, but it couldn't hurt to check.
Do you have atl.dll in your SYSTEM32 directory? If so, could you try a
regsvr32 on it and retry the install?
Let me know how that goes.

Hi Alan,
Yes, atl.dll does exist in system32.
I have run at cmd "regsvr32 atl.dll" which then registered. Tried
installing windows media connect and again same problem!
Any other ideas

That has worked for a number of people. I don't have any other ideas. Do
you have any more specific information about the error?

No I don't sorry.
Would you have any idea what is installed during the setup so I could
possibly try removing these items manually?
