I have a DSM-320. I have a particular song that I ripped from my own CD
into WMA VBR format. It plays on everything perfectly except the DSM-320.
On the DSM-320, it plays until somewhere in the middle, where it simply
stops playing the file (as if it reached the end).
Having previous experience with their tech support, I am hoping there is a
more direct and techno-nerdy way to contact someone there who can verify
this problem (and fix it).
To whom should I send this?

I don't know whom to contact, but I can report that I have exactly the same
problem. Almost all songs play perfectly, but a very few always stop in
exactly the same place.

What version of firmware do you have? I have 1.04.
It happens with D-Link's server, WMC, and Nero MediaHome, so it's not
server-related.

What's your VBR?

Jason Flaks was just telling me last week that he'd discoverd that the DSM-
320 had problems with VBR content. He was trying out some content at home
when he put together why some files were not playing. (Nice work Jason!)
He passed it on to the engineers at D-Link who confirmed the problem (I was
even copied on the e-mail!). I've asked Jason to try to pin them down on
when they will release a fix. So far I haven't heard anything back.
So what I can say is: "There is a known issue with the DSM-320 and VBR
encoded WMA files. D-Link has been made aware of the problem. They have
told us that they are working on a fix."
That's all I know. With luck, they'll fix the FF issue on the video while
they are at it :)
