Is there a seperate version of Media Connect for 64 bit XP users and where do
I get it?  Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I cannot find
it any where.  When I try to install the one from the Microsoft web site it
says it is the wrong version.

I still have the "old" message floating around, and I've been meaning to
do the research to answer it. 64bit XP came out AFTER the original
version of WMC, and WMC didn't ship as part of x64.  So, there isn't a
native version, and the install package for the original won't allow you
to install on x64 because it isn't recognized as a supported platform.
So, I'm sure the original isn't officially supported on x64.

WMC v2 is very close to shipping.  I need to go figure out what our
plans are for supporting WMC v2 on x64.  I don't know of the top of my
head.

Sorry,

Alan,

When you say very close to shipping, is that really close to being available
on Windows Update (as in within a few weeks). I ask because I was late
applying for the beta and would love to see the new product.

Thanks!

Yup really close.  You're going to have these bits on windows update well
before Christmas.

Is there a way I can get a beta of 2.0 that works with x64?  I had problems
with WMC on XP 32bit and changed over to x64 and then find out it will not
work at all.  I signed up for the beta and never heard back.

WMC is not supported on 64 bit OS's until Vista.  Ask me again about how to
get it to install after WMC shipps.  At that time I should be able to share
with you the "command line" version of the install process that will allow
you to do a manual install.  It isn't supported, and I don't know what will
happen, but I can at least get you started.

Soon.  Sorry, I can't be more specific than to say it will be out about the
same time as XBox 360.
