Hi Peeps

I've just about given up on this but thought I'd ask here.

I have three XP Pro (SP2) PCs. All running WMC 2. Two are wired, one is
wireless. The DSM-320 is wired. All share an SMC hub with no NAT or filtering
of any sort.

All PCs have their Firewalls turned totally Off (guaranteed). All are fully
up to date.

All three PCs can see my DSM-320.
BUT...my DSM-320 can only see 2 of my WMCs (which work perfectly)

I have tried every install/deinstal combination I can think of always
checking that the right services are running etc.

One interesting point is that if I install WMC2 and then run Windows Update
and do the suggested WMC update I end up with WMC1 & 2 running.

Finally, the D-Link Server works fine on ALL of these PCs.

M.

p.s. I've been a developer (currently C#) for 20 years, so I don't think I'm
making any noobie mistakes (ha!)

In order for everything to work right, all of the devices need to be on the
same subnet.  Is it possible that one of the WMC servers is on a different
subnet?

To tell for sure, take the IP address and "AND" it with the subnet mask.
If the results are the same for two different devices, then they are both
on the same subnet.

Yes, WMC v1 and v2 will both run side by side.  Eventually WMC 1 will
probalby be removed from windows update, but there is no problem running
them both if you'd like.
