My PC and Xbox 360 cannot connect to each other for some reason.  I have
tried to start the services listed in another thread here but they were
already started.  When trying to set up WMC2 to connecto to the Xbox 360 the
following error occurs in the event log:

Event ID: 14305

Service 'WMConnectCDS' failed to start correctly, due to
'InitializeNetworkMonitoring' returning error '0x8000ffff'.

Can anyone explain what this error means and is there a way to fix it?

Thanks

InitializeNetowrkMonitoring is a function that is called early in the
WMC Service Startup. It does two things.  It sets a callback so that WMC
gets notified when the IP address of the computer changes.  The second
thing it does is start looking for UPnP Devices.

So, one of these two things is failing.  I suspect that the problem is
with the IP address monitoring (because when UPnP has problems it fails
long before this spot).

Is there anything special or uinque about your network setup?

I also have the same problem.

I am running a wireless network through a network card. I can get my
Xbox to run on the internet however sharing media is a problem.

Please could you explain to a relative computer novice how to ammend
the IP address problem?

Cheers
