When I try and start my WMC 2 it doesnt start up. The error message in the
event viewer says
service "WMConnectCDS" failed to start cprrectly, due to
"initializeNetworkMonitoring" returning error 0x80004005
This is for my xbox360 which I stated in my XBOX360 post dosent work with
the media player.
Thanks
Hi Paul,
This error indicates that WMC 2 got ACCESS_DENIED while trying to setup
network monitoring (monitoring for devices on network) using UPnPHOST and
SSDPSRV services. Can you check if these services are running on your PC?
From what user account are you starting WMC v2.0 service (is it local
administrator)?

Thanks for your reply. Yes both up and running. I am the only user. But I
do have Mcafee security with privacy service - though this has not caused
problems before?
Any thoughts? - this is driving me crazy!

I have WMC 2 installed, I followed a FAQ from microsoft to go into
services.msc in the Run program and find Windows Media Connect and change
it's status to start.
When I change it to start it immediatly gives me this error
