Hi,
I am having some difficulty trying to connect my Xbox 360 directly to my PC
and Windows Media Connect and also to my Internet connection . I am
connecting directly from the Xbox360 to my Pc with the Ethernet cable
provided. I have downloaded and installed Windows Media Connect 2.0. Neither
it nor my Xbox 360 recognise or find each other. When I try this with my Xbox
it says Network Connection - Wired But Fails on the IP address. I have
swithed of both the firefalls of Windows and My Panda Antivirus. This still
does not help. I am Using Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2. I am not sure
if I have created a proper network connection and to be honest I am unsure of
how to properly do so. If you could also giveme some assistance on how to do
this I would be very greatful.
The Internet service provider is Seriously Internet. It is a USb Adsl 1MB/s
modem. The modem is made by net-lynx. They were recomended by an XBOX 360
magazine and their internet site says that they support XBox Live.

Any help would be most appreciated

I am also having the same problem. The xbox says "Your computer did not
obtain an IP address from your DHCP server". Would be grateful for any
assistance.

Getting NO IP address is expected behvior in "direct connect" scenarios.  It
doesn't indicate a problem in this case.
