I too am receiving an error message "800703E7".  It occurs whenever I try to open WMP content (case in point, if I try to open ANY movie trailer available on "media guide" on WMP, play any video clip sent to me in WMP format, etc.).  The specific initial error message is "error performing inpage operation"...when I click on "Web Help", it tells me I have encountered error 800703E7.  My WMP is version 9.0 (just downloaded off the web updates page).  I have found the same to be true on other websites utilizing WMP as their video device.

As a follow up, I now find that ANY content (MP3, WMA, previously downloaded video clips for presentations) I try to open with WMP gives the same error message.  Also, any video services utilizing WMP will catch you in a continuous cycle of message displays: 1) "Ready" on the message bar, then, when you click play, it says 2) "connecting to media", then 3) back to "ready" but no content is running..

I have already attempted to re-install WMP 9.0 three times, to no avail.

I have found the solution to the problem...hope this helps others

First, go to the start menu for windows.  Then
Step1. Click on START
Step2. Click on RUN
Step3. In the Open window, type sfc /scanno
(IMP: Note Space
Step4. Click on O
Step5. Follow the instructions and "Scan for Altered Files" on the
system
NOTE: The system will ask you to place the WINDOWS XP CD in the CD
drive

This worked on the first try and everything worked as advertised thereafter
