For the past four weeks I do not get any sound when replaying video clips. My
OS is Windows 98. When I play the same clips on RealOne Player sound is
normal. This would seem to exonerate my SoundMAX sound card. I upgraded to
Media Player Series 9 but it has made no difference. About the same time I
upgraded from Wanadoo Anytime to Wanadoo Broadband. Any advice gratefully
received.

Reinstalling your sound card drivers is always a good start.

Same problem here, but a different sound card. This
stupid piece of overengineered nonsense, tells me that my
sound card is defective, but it works just fine with every
other piece of software I have. I know the problem is
with WMP ver 9, because if I remove my sound card and
reload it WMP 9 plays just fine for about 6 minutes.
Ain't MS just wunnerful...
