I cannot get any sound from playing music in WMP10.
I can from everywhere else on the computer, including Real One player and
the clicking in WMP.
I was playing music when it suddenly stopped. The screen said it was still
playing but no sound was coming out.

I have tried Windows Media Player (the old retro one) and I can play music on
this. So I think there is a problem with WMP 10.

Did you try the suggestions posted?  WMP itself has little to nothing to do
with it outputing the sound.

If you right-click on the WMP logo (top-left of the player) you should be
able to access the drop down 'Play' menu. Go to the sub-menu labelled
'Volume' and ensure that there is not a tick against 'Mute'. If there is
deselect this and the files should play correctly.
