sound trouble

i am using window media player 10.  i have had no trouble before but no have
no sound. it says that it is playing but nothing comes out.

If you right-click on the WMP logo (top-left of the player) you should be
able to access the drop down 'Play' menu. Go to the sub-menu labelled
'Volume' and ensure that there is not a tick against 'Mute'. If there is
deselect this and the files should play correctly.
