Hi there.

Using Windows XP Home with WMP 10 and with any AVI, MPEG1 or MPEG2
videos I try to play I get an unknown error message.

Using WMP 9 (after uninstalling 10 and re-installing 9) I get class not
registered errors for the same videos.

The videos all used to play fine - but not sure what has changed since.
No new software installed recently.

Have followed steps on the site
http://msmvps.com/chrisl/articles/10917.aspx but still no joy.

For a sample AVI that does not work, GSpot shows IV50 in the 4CC field
and name Indeo Interactive and says that the codec is installed.

Have done a re-install of DirectX but no joy for MPEGs and also have
the InterVideo MPEG2 decoder installed - that the Windows XP Video
Decoder Checkup Utility picks up (version of the decoder is 6.0.6.83).

Any ideas would be much appreciated.  Trying to watch Christmas home
video my sister has sent over.

Many thanks

Jason
