can i use win media player as a recorder?

i would like to use my computer to record speech.can i do it with the windows
media player? win xp ==media player version 10  thank you for your time--bill

No, Windows Media Player was not designed for this. Windows' own Sound
Recorder provides a basic ability to record speech, but if you have a sound
card it probably came with a more functional sound recorder. Or you could go
out and buy third party software.
