I am a bit confused. I just upgraded to WMP9 specifically for the 'auto
playlist' functionality. I highlight a few files and drag them into the
WMP window, and they are automatically added to the now playing list.
Great.
Here's the problem. The files I highlighted are in a specific order,
for obvious reasons. However, they seem to be added to the play list in
random order. Is that correct? I can click and drag them to re order
them, but I've already ordered the files.
Is there a setting or something I am missing?

Please see my post from yesterday "Playlist order workaround". Seems to be a
bug.

I can not locate your post, would you mind posting the workaround again?

The shell is just handing off a data blob list of files to WMP - it's not
necessarily ordering the files in any particular fashion when it hands off
to WMP, which is why you'd see this.

Are you sure? In general, the file explorer will attach a list of
files to the clipboard in the order they were presented. So when you
retrieve them from the clipboard, you merely have to get them in thier
natural order.
It's been a very long time since I wrote code for windows, but I seem to
recall order being preserved in all drag/drop/cut/copy/paste operations.
