I would start with the Windows Media File Editor that's part of the Windows
Media Encoder install... that's generally a pretty good test of whether or
not the file is valid.

I downloaded the asf from the microsoft site. I found the following two
warnings;
*Data size not set (50 bytes), corrected (324437162 bytes)
*Data object does not have a packet count, estimated (21786 packets)
What does this mean, and can I correct it manually? Thanks.

I don't often do ASF repair, so I would be unable to recommend something
here for you. I'd suggest using your favorite search engine to find a
repair tool if you cannot reacquire or regenerate the file.
