I'm having some major problems with Windows Media Player 10. When trying to
play video files, the video seems to play just fine, ...then suddenly the
entire size of the video screen completely washes out, turning into a solid
green color for the remainder of the video while in the middle of viewing
various type video files using . The problem is
that in the middle of video playback (file playing from the hard drive, not
streaming online), the screen will suddenly washout, and turns completely
green right in the middle, or sometimes near the end of watching a video.
I'm using XP Pro and my video card is an NVidia FX5900 SE, 128 MB DDR, AGP
and the same problem occurred while testing several different versions of
NVidia's official drivers, ...and yes, I'd completely gotten rid of all
traces of the previous installed video drivers per NVidia's driver removal
instructions prior to installing a newer version.
What'll happen, is whenever a video file is being played, this will occur
anywhere in between, ...sometimes at the beginning, at times it happens in
the middle, and other times somewhere near the end.
Now, here's the real kicker about this, ...one other time before when I had
this same exact problem, (...this was a really long time ago), but I'd found
a forum
where there was a thread about this very same issue, and about half-way down
that page somebody had chimed in and posted a fix, it was by using "reg
edit". However, I've spent many hours looking for that same web forum, but I
can't seem to find it again. (Argh!!)
I'm wondering if anyone here knows how I might possibly fix this problem. If
so, please advise. That would be very much appreciated.
Thanks a million!!!
