Strang problem;
If I play WMV files in any(!) media player (WMP 10 of RealPlayer 10) the CPU
load goes up to 100% and stays there. If I play MPEG, AVI or RM files via the
same players the CPU load stays below 30%. So I guess it's a rather a WMV
than a player problem.

Does anybody encounter this problem before, I can't find an answer via the
search nor via Google or Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Thanks.

What version of DirectX do you have?  3990 does allow the usage of DirectX
Video Acceleration on cards that support it - that may or may not be
related...

If DxDiag.exe says that you're running 9.0, update to 9.0c (4.9.0.904) -
does that help?
