locking up when ripping....

i have windows ME and when i try to rip a cd to the computer wmp locks up
after the first song gets to 99%..... the whole computer doesnt lcok up, only
wmp.... any ideas of what's wrong?

Does switching to analog ripping mode for that CD drive in WMP's
Tools:Options help avoid this problem?

Depends on what version of the player you're using.  I don't use WMP9
anymore, so don't know for certain.  I believe it's under
Tools:Options:Devices in the Properties for that drive?
