Dear All,
I've been having the same problem with R52 from IBM with WMP10 and now
WMP11.
When I try to play DVD it says that it cannot and I shall lover the
resolution and color quality settings.
1. I got ATI 256 MB x300 Video card
2. I've lowered to 800x600 10bit and the story repeats.

WinDVD works ok

What is wrong ?

Cheers

this is hapened with all DVD's ?
a) In Windows Media Player on the Tools/Options/see if the DVD tab is
available. If a compatible decoder is not properly installed the DVD tab
will not be available.
b) Start/Run/type mplayer2
open the file...works...?
c) start/run/type: dxdiag
do the sound and video test...any problems?

Hi,
I've downloaded the MPEG2 codecs
form interVideo Xpac and now it works.
I thought WMP11 has the MPEG2 codecs  but aparently
they are not for free
