wmp series 9 and windows 2000

all of a sudden can't play cd's with wmp. when i go into the device manager,
it gives me error code 31 and says windows cannot load the drivers required
to start this device. just got it back from tech today and said it had a bad
driver for riozy and they took it off. thought that was my pblm. still won't
play cds, plays radio. help?

The driver removal also scuppered the layers of interfaces used to
access CD drives. Luckily this is a known issue with many other
softwares and there's a page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/
to sort you out.
