Error Code 0xc00d11cd - Device will not show up

Hey all. Received the above error code, have tried searching help sites but
it's a broad error code and apparently there is no specifc info.

When I try to sync a playlist to my device (Sansa M240), it says no device
has been detected. I have sync'd music before, so I'm not sure why I'm
having these problems all of a sudden. I'm using WMP 10 on Windows XP (no
SP2). I tried my friend's MP3 player also, and it doesn't detect hers
either. "My Computer" detects the player and says device is working
properly. So clearly the problem lies with WMP...

Please help before I throw my laptop out the window. Thanks : )

Well we share a laptop, so it's the same WMP for both of us...
