Is it possible to start wmv11 in the now playing tab instead of the library
tab?

Yes. Find the player icon on your desktop. Right click it and choose
Properties. Click inside the "Target" box there, and press the End key
(or use the mouse or cursor keys to move to the end of the line).

At the end of that line, type

/Task NowPlaying

Click OK, close and re-open media player.
